emerge as strong candidates for Portland Trail Blazers’ GM post - NBA
The Portland Trail Blazers’ management have come-up with two new names for their potential post of General Manager. Some inside sources of the Blazers have speculated in the media about couple of new names for the vacant post of
GM in the Blazers’ franchise.
The Cleveland Cavaliers vice president of basketball operations David Green and the Los Angeles Clippers vice president of basketball operations Neil Olshey are the potential two new nominees for the GM post.                                                   
Earlier, the Blazers have conducted a brief interview with the Oklahoma City Thunder’s assistant general manager Troy Weaver. The Blazers have also shown great interest in the San Antonio Spurs GM Dennis Lindsey but no decision
has been made yet for the possible available job in the Blazers’ franchise.
The two new names also have a strong backing from some of the top executives from the Blazers administration. The Portland Trail Blazers searching a probable candidate who will fill the gap of his successor Rich Cho. Rich Cho has
spent one season with the Blazers but fired by the management for his poor strategies which he brought late in the season. Those strategies were mainly based on defence and caused the Blazers in the post season when they qualified for the playoffs and lost
bitterly in the very first round from the Dallas Mavericks.
However, after spending one season with the Blazers, Cho arrived in the Charlotte Bobcats and joined their front office. Michael Jordan was the key supporter for Cho and decided to bring him into his owned franchise.
Though, the Blazers had made their current director of scouting Chad Buchanan an interim GM for overseeing the NBA draft but later he too resigned from the post and did not commit any promise for his availability as full time GM
of the franchise. But now, the Blazers’ management is getting desperate to select a good candidate as they recently met with two new professionals. Both these are very talented and doing their jobs with great dedication.
The Cleveland Cavaliers’ president of basketball operations David Griffin has completed his first season with them He has a long career in basketball affairs in the NBA. Before joining the Cavaliers, he has worked with the Phoenix
Suns with great energy. He was certainly a key member in the Suns’ management when he used to work in their media department while later gained more success and become their head of front office.
Last year, Griffin was also offered by the Denver Nuggets to become their GM but he decided to join the Cavaliers. On the other hand, the Los Angeles Clippers president of basketball operations Neil Olshey came into the Clippers’
franchise last year and impressed many in the top management.
