David Haye: I am looking forward to claim my rightly deserved titles – Boxing news
The current WBA world heavyweight champion David Haye is very excited for his unification fight for the heavyweight titles against the IBF, WBO and IBO world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at the Imtech Arena in Hamburg,
Germany.
This fight is Haye’s biggest fight so far and also the biggest one in the British boxing history, as it will have all the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO titles on the line.
The Hayemaker, Haye, told the media he is lucky to be a part of such a big event. He said unifying the heavyweight titles is the ultimate goal for any boxer and therefore he is looking forward to bring the entire four belts home.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “I'm so proud to be involved in it and to be the guy that knocks the other unconscious is going to be a great feeling, to be the main man, at the pinnacle of the heavyweight division. I believe being the unified
heavyweight champion is the pinnacle of the sport and I'm looking forward to going in there and claiming my rightly-deserved titles.”
In the end, the 30-year-old brash Londoner, Haye, who has won 25 of his 26 bout including 23 by the way of a knockout, claimed the only fight that can ever match this mega heavyweight showdown will be of the five-division world champion, Floyd Mayweather
and the eight-division world champion, Manny Pacquiao.
The Mayweather-Pacquiao fight has not happened as of yet whereas people desperately want to see both of them fighting in the ring against each other.
Haye remarked, “I think the only fight that could match it is Floyd Mayweather against Manny Pacquiao. Obviously for various reasons their fight has not happened, and won't happen this year, so this is the biggest fight to happen in boxing by far.”
There is no time left now when both Haye and Wladimir will be against each other in front of an anticipated crowd of over 60,000 people. However let’s see if Haye can really shrug off one of the best heavyweight boxers in the world.
