David Haye: I will deliver an ultimate performance against Wladimir Klitschko – Boxing news
The World Boxing Association’s World Heavyweight Champion David Haye admits the fact that one mistake against the International Boxing Federation, International Boxing Organisation, World Boxing Organisation and Ring Magazine Champion Wladimir Klitschko
can be fatal.
He said therefore he is trying to put in his best and believes this is going to be the best ever performance from him.
David ‘The Hayemaker’ Haye, who will take on Wladimir ‘Dr. Steelhammer’ Klitschko on July 2, 2011 in a unification bout for the heavyweight titles in Germany, admitted Klitschko is a very experienced and powerful combatant and there cannot be any mistakes
made against him.
He revealed he is training day-in and day-out for the fight, which is the biggest of his career and also one of the biggest in the British history.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “The tactics are huge. Against a man this experienced and powerful I know one mistake could be fatal. If I bob when I should weave then it could be catastrophic. That’s another reason why for all these weeks my every
waking thought has been about delivering the ultimate performance.”
The 30-year-old Haye was asked if he respects his opponent. Haye replied by saying he did not. He remarked after all the statements that Klitschko had passed, it was not possible.
The Londoner also called Klitschko, who has won 55 of his 58 fights including 49 by the way of a knockout, is a boring fighter. However, on the same note he said this fight is going to be a thriller, as both of them will exchange their best punches.
“Do I respect him after all that’s been said? Well, I respect his consistency. He’s consistently boring but he’s also been winning. I don’t like his jab-and-grab tactics. But I do know that while I’ll hit him harder than he’s ever been hit, the same will
apply when he hits me. We’ve both been down in big fights so this should be a thriller,” he said.
It is only a matter of a few weeks when both these pugilists will be one-on-one in front of a 50,000-strong crowd. However let’s see whether Haye has what it takes to bulldoze a 6 ft 6.5” giant or not.
