David Haye: If Joe Calzaghe is impressed by me, I know I’m in a very good place – Boxing news
The World Boxing Association world heavyweight champion David Haye has gained a lot of confidence ahead of his bout on July 2, 2011 as the former World Boxing Organisation, World Boxing Association, World Boxing Council, International Boxing Federation,
Ring Magazine and British super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe visited and appreciated him in his Vauxhall gymnasium.
The Hayemaker Haye was very delighted to see Calzaghe, who during his career won all of his 46 fights including 32 by the way of a knockout, at the ring side clapping for him and appreciating him.
Haye, who is scheduled against the International Boxing Federation, World Boxing Organisation, International Boxing Organisation and the Ring Magazine world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in a unification bout for the heavyweight titles on July
2, 2011 at the Hamburg Arena in Germany, added Calzaghe is an inspiration for every boxer.
“Joe went about things the way all boxers aspire to,” said Haye.
The 30-year-old Londoner told the media he gets a boost whenever he sees Calzaghe at the ring side. He remarked if Calzaghe gets impressed by him, it is like a job done.
“I got a real kick out of seeing Joe sat ringside on Tuesday, and it was especially nice to see him standing and clapping at the end of the rounds. If I can sense Joe is impressed by what he's seeing, I know I'm in a very good place,” said Haye.
He stated Calzaghe has fought many unification bouts during his career and therefore knows about everything. Haye also believes Calzaghe is one of the best experts out there.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “Whenever I see Joe at ringside watching me prepare, it gives me added impetus to do well. He knows what he's talking about and knows what it's like to be involved in these sort of big unification title fights. As
far as experts go, none come more experienced than Joe.”
The Wladimir-Haye bout has created a lot of hype ahead of the fight. However let’s see who smiles at the end of one of the biggest bouts in the British history.
