David Haye: Nothing will help Wladimir Klitschko when the first bell rings – Boxing news
The World Boxing Association World Heavyweight Champion David Haye has responded to the various statements that the International Boxing Federation, International Boxing Organisation, World Boxing Organisation and Ring Magazine Champion Wladimir Klitschko
has made.
The Hayemaker, Haye, who will be one-on-one against the 6 ft 6.5” Ukrainian giant Klitschko in a unification bout for the heavyweight titles on July 2, 2011 at the Hamburg Arena in Germany, claimed nothing is going to help Klitschko after the first bell
rings.
The 30-year-old Haye, who has won 25 of his 26 fight including 23 by the way of a knockout, told the media that his 35-year-old opponent has been speaking a lot to gather fans around him but these things are not going to help him out.
While speaking on his inclusion, he remarked, “Wladimir's been going beyond the call of duty trying to be everyone's friend and as charming as possible. But none of that will help him when the first bell rings.”
The Londoner, Haye, stated Dr. Steelhammer Klitschko has totally changed himself to gather an army of fans for him but he is only acting. The Englishman believes Klitschko is doing this to have a good image of him in front of the people.
“He's clearly changed his personality and tried to get away from that Dolph Lundgren, Ivan Drago Rocky IV character. He's trying to be more friendly, but it's an act - he is Ivan Drago. He's just been sprinkling on some cheese and charm,” Haye commented.
Though Haye, who recently revealed that his bout against Klitschko could be his last one, admitted Klitschko is intelligent. However, he also said that intelligence will not matter a lot when the bout takes place.
Haye said, “It won't matter how intelligent he is. The 18 languages he speaks won't help him either. Who cares about all of that? The best fighter wins. Who cares how charming he is?”
