David Haye: Wladimir Klitschko will earn peanuts against anyone else – Boxing news
David ‘The Hayemaker’ Haye, who recently lost his WBA world heavyweight title against the IBF, WBO and IBO world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, is now desperate to have a rematch as he wants to avenge his defeat.
The Haye-Wladimir bout unification bout for the heavyweight titles was one of the biggest bouts in the British history, which witnessed a crowd of over 60,000 people.
However, the 30-year-old, who added a second defeat to his record, still believes he is the best option for Dr. Steelhammer, Wladimir Klitschko. Haye claimed it was a big pay day for Klitschko and he would not get the same amount of money from anyone else.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “I’ve got my fingers crossed that he’ll check out how much he earned [from the fight] and realises he’ll earn peanuts against anyone else compared to fighting me again.”
Klitschko has denied Haye’s offer, as he is currently aiming a bout against the Del Boy, Dereck Chisora or Tyson Fury.
Haye stated if Klitschko wants an easy fight he can fight anyone as he has the ball in his court but if he wants to have a super fight he will have to come to him again.
“I’d love a re-match but the ball is in his court. I had the title and went out to unify them, but now he’s in a good position and it’s up to him. If he wants another super fight he can fight me,” said Haye.
In the end Haye, who has won 25 of his 27 fights including 23 by the way of a knockout, remarked he still reckons he can beat the 6 ft 6.5” Ukrainian giant on his day and therefore he wants to have another bout.
“I’d love the opportunity to do it again and I believe on my day I could beat him. I failed this time fair and square but I’d like another crack at it,” he said.
