David Haye believes nobody is interested in the Klitschko brothers anymore – Boxing News
Former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye met his upcoming opponent Dereck Chisora at a press conference held yesterday to promote their July 14 fight at the Upton Park in London. Haye, who will be facing Chisora in a grudge match, wants to go head to head
with Wladimir Klitschko once again. However, as of now, Haye believes that nobody is really interested in watching the Klitschko brothers anymore and the crowd wants to see him beating Dereck Chisora.
“They don't want this fight to take place because what it will do is take away publicity from their fights,” the former WBA heavyweight champion insisted. He added, “No-one is talking about their fights, people are only talking about this fight and they
don't know how to deal with that. They don't want anyone else in the heavyweight division making money and getting publicity and they will do whatever they can to shun this event, but people want to see this and people don't want to see what they do - at this
point in time anyway.”
It should be noted here that David Haye lost to Wladimir Klitschko in 2011 in July, losing his WBA title to Dr. Steelhammer. Haye was present at the post bout conference of Vitali Klitschko vs. Dereck Chisora, where he ended up brawling with Dereck Chisora.
Chisora had lost the fight and was furious. He took offence of Haye’s comments and went right into him.
Dereck Chisora lost his BBBC license as a result of the public brawl with David Haye and his misbehaviour towards the Klitschko brothers. David Haye already had given up his BBBC license after his loss to Wladimir. Therefore, the BBBC is not sanctioning
the fight. Instead, the grudge match between Haye and Chisora is being sanctioned by the Luxembourg Boxing Federation.
For now, David Haye is excited to get in the ring against Chisora, to teach him a lesson of his lifetime. According to Haye, Chisora needs to be thrashed badly so that he learns how to behave with others. Haye has promised that he will beat Chisora and then
move onto Wladimir once again.
