David Haye decides to go against Wladimir Klitschko instead of his brother Vitali – Boxing news
The British national professional boxer, David Haye spoke to the public that the reason why he is going against the Ukraine’s national, Wladimir Klitschko is that the general public wants to see Haye verses Wladimir bout to happen.
Therefore, Haye’s next possible opponent is more likely to be the International Boxing Federation’s (IBF) and World Boxing Organisation’s (WBO) heavyweight champion, Wladimir Klitschko rather than his older brother Vitali Klitschko.
The World Boxing Association (WBA) heavyweight champion, David Haye will now face the IBF/WBO heavyweight champion, Wladimir Klitschko at the Imtech Arena, in Hamburg, Germany on July 2, 2011.
Haye said “He’s [Wladimir] the guy the public wants me to fight. If there was a poll, 90% of the people would say Wladimir. I’m boxing for the biggest and this is it.”
The fight will be for the WBA, IBF, IBO and Ring Heavyweight titles. Wladimir Klitschko will try to defend his IBF, IBO, WBO and the Ring Heavyweight titles for the third time. Wladimir Klitschko made the first successful defence of these titles against
American national Eddie Chambers fighting at Esprit Arena on March 20 and the second defence was against Nigerian national, Samuel Peter in 2010. Therefore, that would be the first fight of Wladimir in 2011.
However, the boxing fans, writers and critics would not completely agree with Haye’s statement because the boxing people just want to see a fighting combat after a period of time to stay active in the boxing world.
Some boxing fans are of the view that Haye has chosen to go against Wladimir because Wladimir is not in a good form and he has been found to be struggling against his previous opponents.
On the other hand his brother, Vitali has been outstanding since his first professional bout and he has never been knocked down by anyone in his career. Although Vitali lost couple of his fights fighting against Lennox Lewis in 2003 and Chris Byrd in 2000
but he displayed extraordinary strengths and boxing skills against them. He lost the fights just because he was not physically hundred percent fit.
The Vitali vs. Haye bout would be the big one because of growing value of Vitali in the boxing world. However, Wladimir vs. Haye fight could be a tough fight night because now Wladimir has improved a lot under the valuable guidelines of his new trainer Emanuel
Steward.
