David Haye guarantees he will force Vitali Klitschko to retire – Boxing news
The former World Boxing Association world heavyweight champion David Haye is desperate to set up a clash with the current World Boxing Council world heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko as the Brit has dared Vitali to fight him.
Vitali ‘Dr. Ironfist’ Klitschko recently beat the Tomek, Tomasz Adamek, via a technical knockout out at the Stadion Miejski in Wroclaw, Poland. It was a top performance from the 6 ft 8” Ukrainian giant, as he beat Adamek in his native country yet the 30-year-old
brash Londoner, Haye, is not impressed.
Haye, who holds a record of winning 25 of his 27 professional fights, with 23 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, reckons Vitali had no speed at all and if the Ukrainian would have taken him on, he would have lost badly.
Haye lost his WBA world heavyweight title to Vitali’s younger brother Wladimir Klitschko, who currently holds the WBA Super IBF, WBO Super, IBO and Ring Magazine Championship belts, via unanimous decision on July 2, 2011 at the Hamburg Football Stadium in
Germany. However, Haye still believes he has a superior punching power as compared to either Wladimir or Vitali.
“I’ll knock him out, I’ll smash his chin if he holds it out like he did again Adamek,” Haye said in an interview with German newspaper Die Welt. “But still I cannot imagine that Vitali has the courage. If he does, I guarantee I’ll send him into retirement.
He will never fight again and will be able to devote himself full time to politics.”
“I hit harder than the two brothers together. I am also much faster, more agile and much, much harder to hit,” Haye added.
The 6 ft 3” Haye wanted to avenge his defeat against Wladimir Klitschko as he declared he will retire from the sport if not given a rematch, but now he has reconsidered and wants to fight Vitali Klitschko.
Let’s see if Vitali offers Haye a chance to fight him because it will certainly be another bout to watch out for.
