David Haye is happy and willing to throw verbal blows
Well, if nobody can get David Haye to put on his gloves anytime soon, at least Audrey Harrison’s provoking him to put on the verbal ones. Harrison and Hayes’ promoters are currently in talks for a British mega-fight between the two, slated for November 13th.
A few days ago Harrison said, “I'm about as bored as every other fight fan about hearing why you [Haye] won't accept fights. What are we in this game for? I say to try and win titles and create a legacy but if it's money you want then outside of the Klitschko fight I'm the only guy that makes you money.” He continued: “I am accepting the terms you have offered me and now we will see what you are made of. Man up and get this fight signed," Harrison said. "So bring on the Battle of Britain and I will be the Hayebreaker come November 13."
In response, Haye decided to restrict himself to the 140 character limit of twitter, posting: “shut the f**k up Fraudley. If somehow we ever do fight, that career high pay day you crave won't cover your medical bills! Pipe down.”
Harrison, a former Olympic Gold medalist, has stated that he wants James Toney to sign the contract for a November fight immediately, though negotiations have been moving slowly. Haye has not fought since April, when he scored a ninth round TKO of John Ruiz.
For over a year, fans have been awaiting a possible bout between David Haye, who holds the WBA heavyweight title, and either of the Klitschko brothers. Negotiations with Vitali fell through for the second time when Haye suddenly pulled out of a bout scheduled for September 2009. Furious, Vitali’s manager, Bernd Boente, issued a statement saying: “All the excuses of adhesion contracts are complete rubbish as Haye had already signed the same contract for the fight against Wladimir in June, which also contained a usual rematch clause and a pure Klitschko option.” He continued: “And for that fight he also pulled out.”
