David Haye reveals death threats from the Ukraine – Boxing News
Briton fighter David Haye is extremely eager to fight Ukrainian WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko but he does not want the fight to happen in Ukraine. In a recent interview, Haye told SportBild that he is intimidated of fighting in the Ukraine, considering
the fact that the people there ‘hate black people.’ He added that he has already received several death threats.
“'I've never been to Ukraine but I have heard it's very dangerous for a black man,” said Haye. “There are crazy racists who have already sent me death threats. So Germany would be the best and safest place for me to beat Vitali and get out of the stadium
alive.”
It should be noted here that the Klitschko brothers are known for fighting in Germany. Since they are endorsed by most German televisions, the Ukrainian brothers prefer Germany to the UK.
“'He (Vitali) has promised the world so many times that he could knock me out. That is rubbish. 'I'm too fast, too s**y and too talented to be blown away by a large, slow robot from the Ukraine,” said Haye while talking about a possible bout against Vitali
Klitschko.
Haye has already been defeated by Wladimir Klitschko, Vitali’s younger, brother. Now, the Londoner is looking forward to lock horns with Vitali as soon as possible, considering the fact that the Ukrainian is at the verge of retirement.
David Haye defeated fellow countryman Dereck Chisora via fifth round knockout on July 14. The fight was sanctioned by the Luxembourg Boxing Federation, considering that neither of the fighter had a British fighting license.
Haye’s license was revoked when he went into retirement last month. However, now, the British fight sensation has once again applied for a British license in order to add credibility to his portfolio to get Vitali.
On the other hand, the Ukrainian champion fought Manuel Charr earlier this month, defeating him via fourth round technical knockout. The victory was a disappointment, not just for Manuel but for Vitali himself. According to Vitali, the fight did not end
the way he thought it would.
Even Haye commented on the victory saying Vitali should be ashamed of his win over Charr.
