David Haye says Wladimir Klitschko is the greatest challenge he has ever faced – Boxing news
The current World Boxing Association’s World Heavyweight Champion David Haye has admitted that the International Boxing Federation, International Boxing Organisation, World Boxing Organisation and Ring Magazine Champion, Wladimir Klitschko is by far the
biggest challenge he has ever come across.
David ‘The Hayemaker’ Haye will face the 6 ft 6.5” Ukrainian giant in a unification bout for the heavyweight titles on July 2, 2011 at the Hamburg Arena in Germany. This is going to be the biggest fight of Haye’s career and also the biggest clash in the
British history.
The 30-year-old Londoner, Haye, told the media he has never faced anyone with so many medals on his chest. He said Klitschko is the greatest challenge for him and he would for sure need something more than extraordinary to beat him.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “Klitschko is by far the greatest challenge I've faced. I've never met anyone with his attributes before. It will take nothing less than a perfect performance to beat him.”
Haye recently announced he is going to retire after he gets done with the bout in July. Therefore, he knows there is a lot on the line in this fight.
He stated this fight is the defining moment for him and he wants to start his new life with all three belts on his shoulders.
“There's more at stake in this one, I'll take his belts which will be a dream come true. It will be the perfect way to go out. Without a doubt this is my legacy-deciding fight, this is the one I'll be remembered for in years to come,” said Haye.
“This is Wladimir's defining fight as well as mine, so I expect him to be at his best. There's a lot on the line for both fighters,” he added.
There is not much time left now when both these pugilists will be one-on-one against each other in the ring in front of a crowd of over 50,000 people. Let’s see whether Haye can really win this fight or not.
