David Haye says bout against Wladimir Klitschko could be his last one – Boxing news

David ‘The Hayemaker’ Haye has said his bout against Wladimir Klitschko could be his last one.
The Londoner Haye added he has always told everyone he is not going to box after he gets 30. He is going to turn 31 on October 13, 2011.
The World Boxing Association’s World Heavyweight Champion, David Haye will be one-on-one against the International Boxing Federation, World Boxing Organization, International Boxing Organization and Ring Magazine Champion, Wladimir Klitschko for a heavyweight
showdown on July 2, 2011 at the Hamburg Arena in Germany.
Haye stated he has always aimed to unify the titles and once he does that, there will be nothing else to do so he would retire from the sport. He then said Wladimir’s brother Vitali Klitschko, who currently holds the World Boxing Council belt, could be an
option but on the same note he said he would only fight if he gets it soon.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “Otherwise, once I've unified the titles, there's nowhere else to go - I've always anticipated retiring and have adjusted my life according to that. If there's another fight [against Vitali] that can happen quickly
then let's get it on.”
Haye, who has won 25 of his 26 fights including 23 by the way of a knockout, especially mentioned his fight against Nikolai Valuev, which took place in Nuremberg and Haye ended it with a hand injury. He said if anything like that happens in this fight, then
it definitely is going to be his last one.
“If I damage my hand in the same way I damaged it against Valuev, hypothetically that would be my last fight,” he remarked.
In the end, the 6 ft 3” fighter revealed he is putting in his best by keeping in his mind that this is his last fight.
“I'm training with that in mind, that this could potentially be my last fight, so I need to make it my best,” he concluded.
