David Haye vows to beat Dereck Chisora – Boxing News
David Haye has had enough of Dereck Chisora’s verbal assaults, and now he has vowed to punish him on July 14 at the Upton Park. It should be noted here that at the weigh-in David Haye weighed 37 lbs less than Chisora, which can be his major drawback.
“He's not a nice man. He's a horrible, spiteful man and a bully,” said Haye.
“The law hasn't punished him, so it's left to me to punish him.”
He further spoke about Dereck Chisora’s performance remarking, “He's got speed for one round - after I dance with him he's not going to have any speed. I know for a fact [there are question marks over his stamina] and we'll find that out.”
Things became ugly between Haye and Chisora after the duo started a public brawl in Munich. Chisora had lost to Vitali Klitschko, and was furious over the entire scenario. Haye was present at the event where he provoked Chisora to a fight.
It should be noted here that Chisora had spat water in the face of Wladimir Klitschko after losing the match to his younger brother Vitali. He had also slapped Vitali at the pre-fight press conference.
Chisora’s behaviour was deemed as unacceptable by most boxing authorities and as a result, the British Board of Boxing Control revoked his license and recommended him to take anger management classes. However, instead of following orders, Chisora chose to
pursue a fight against Haye. He followed Haye to restaurants and tried to engage in brawls but Haye avoided it.
Finally, a match between both the fighters as set to settle their differences. However, since none of them holds a British fighting license, the fight was considered illegal by the BBBC and the WBC. As of now, it is being sanctioned by the Luxembourg Boxing
Federation.
The BBBC has already issued a warning against participation for managers, fighters, promoters and agents. According to a statement by the BBBC, any official who is found participating in the event will have his or her license revoked.
Haye will take on Chisora this Saturday. The bout is set for the same date as of Amir Khan vs. Danny Garcia.
