David Haye wants to take on Vitali Klitschko after Dereck Chisora – Boxing News
In his recent interview, David Haye said that he wants to take WBC world heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko after beating Dereck Chisora. Haye, who is currently scheduled to face Chisora, wants to go head to head with the big man Vitali, who defeated
Chisora two months back.
Haye’s match against Chisora will mark his comeback in mainstream boxing. Haye announced retirement after his loss to Wladimir Klitschko last year. Haye was heavily criticised by the boxing fraternity for using his injured toe as an excuse for his loss to
Wladimir, whereas most analysts thought his performance was not up to par and his toe had nothing to do with it.
Haye is scheduled to face Dereck Chisora on July 14 at the West Ham United FC’s Boleyn Ground. When asked about his preparations against Chisora, Haye iterated, “I'll take on Dereck and see what the landscape is. Yes, I'd like to meet Vitali after that.
All I'm going to do now is focus on this idiot (Chisora) and get him out of there.”
Things between Haye and Chisora have heated up a lot in the recent past. Days earlier, Haye notified media reporters that Chisora has been hunting him down since Chisora lost to Vitali. It should be noted here that the fight between Haye and Chisora is not
sanctioned by the BBBC. Since none of the two holds British fighting license, the BBBC has warned officials against participating in the event, including managers, promoters and other fighters.
Earlier this week, Vitali Klitschko called the fight between Chisora and Haye ‘a freak show with freak rules’. Chisora has been the centre of controversy since his last fight against Vitali. He lost his British fighting license to the commission after being
found guilty on three major charges of misbehaving. His first charge was that he slapped Vitali Klitschko at the pre-fight conference, second charge was of throwing water in the face of Wladimir Klitschko minutes after Chisora lost to Vitali and his last charge
was regarding getting involved in a public brawl with David Haye at the post-fight press conference in Germany.
