David Hussey claims that Michael Clarke is trying too hard to strike form
Australian cricketer David Hussey, who led his team to a third consecutive win over England in the ingoing seven-match one-day international (ODI) series, claimed that Michael Clarke was trying too hard to score runs for his team.
Clarke has only managed 55 runs in the ODI series against England. He wasn’t able to perform in the Ashes series either, which Australia lost by a margin of 3-1.
Clarke was appointed as captain for the last Ashes Test match and has been the captain of the ODI team as well following injury concerns to skipper Ricky Ponting.
Hussey said that Clarke shouldn’t only be judged on his batting form, rather his leadership skills should also be considered. The out-of-form batsman and stand-in captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120 has led the team well after they were low on confidence following a poor Ashes
show.
Hussey praised Clarke and said, “I wouldn't say he's performed that badly. On the field, I think he's captaining beautifully, every bowling change he's made has brought wickets. And he’s come up with some great fielding positions.”
Clarke has come under a lot of criticism due to his dip in form. The media and the fans haven’t taken his performance lightly even though he has led the team to three straight wins.
The stylish batsman also took some steps to improve his batting after the Ashes series. He retired from Twenty20 cricket, and decided to stay away from the cash rich Indian Premier League (IPL), in order to concentrate more on Test and ODI cricket.
Hussey also predicted a big innings from Clarke soon. He stated that Clarke has been a magnificent performer for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, he has never looked back.
Commenting on his brother, Michael Hussey, the younger Hussey said, “I know he'll be very diligent in what he needs to do in his rehabilitation. I'm sure he'll be fit and healthy in the shortest amount (of time) possible because he loves playing cricket
and wants to get back there as soon as possible ... he lives for a Word Cup, he lives to play cricket.”
Hussey was also confident that his team would take the series after a fourth straight win over England. He said that he was in good form after his match-winning knock, and would continue playing the way he did in the last match for his team. He also hoped
that Australia would continue its form in the World Cup.
