David Hussey just not satisfied with his top order’s performance – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJ-Hussey-c1380, the stand in skipper of Kings XI Punjab, was just not happy with the performance of his top order batsman, after his side lost a nail biting encounter against Mumbai Indians here at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai by four runs.
Chasing a target of 175 to win, the David Hussey led http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dhawal-Kulkarni-c1367.
While speaking to media reporters after the match, the Australian admitted that they left a bit too much to the tail-enders adding that the top order should have stayed till the end and depended on the tail.
“Very disappointed with the result, I thought we should have chased down the total,” Hussey said at the post match presentation ceremony. “There was a little bit of improvement in the batting. (However) we left a little bit too much to the tailenders.”
"I have great faith in our lower order. They have been sort of saving the team most of the season. Little bit disappointing that a set batsman was not there till the end - like a http://www.senore.com/Cricket/David-Lawson-Miller-c53037 or myself - but full credit should go to Mumbai and their spinners. I thought their two spinners really changed the game," the visiting skipper went on to add.
Hussey also admitted that his decision to bowl the final over of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Western-Australia-c865 all-rounder, who bowls right arm off-spin, conceded 27 runs in the final over, allowing the hosts post a challenging 174-run total.
"I was never meant to bowl. It was just one of those things. It was either myself or the leg-spinner. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Piyush-c82317 Chawla had bowled in the death overs in the last few matches but tonight it was not coming well for him. So I took the role and sadly went for 27," said the Australian.
