http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJ-Hussey-c1380 still dreams about playing Test cricket – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746’s middle-order batsman, David Hussey, has expressed his desire to represent his country in Test cricket, which he feels is the highest stage of the game despite the hype involved with limited-overs version of the sport.
The 34-year-old cricketer made his international debut for Australia in 2008 and since then he has been a permanent member of the Aussie team in One Day Internationals (ODIs) and T20Is. The right-handed middle-order batsman has so far played 55 ODIs and
36 T20 internationals for his country.
Hussey has mediocre averages in both the forms of international cricket but he has been a very useful cricketer for the Kangaroos because of his ability to hit the ball big in the later stages of an innings. On top of that, he can bowl more than handy off-breaks.
On the other hand, Hussey’s elder brother, Michael is a permanent member of the Australian team in all the three formats of the game and is considered among the modern greats.
The right-handed batsman had a good tri-nation series earlier this year, which included http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750. However, Hussey wants the selectors to give him a chance in the longer version of the sport. Hussey understands that he will have to score consistently
in limited-overs cricket so that he can push for a spot in the Test team. Hussey believes that Test cricket will always remain the top-priority for any professional cricketer.
"Yes, I am glad that I could do well against teams like India and Sri Lanka. Test cricket is the ultimate dream for any cricketer and hopefully my chance is around the corner. I will do anything to get more runs and press my claims because of the tough competition
to get into the team," he said.
He also praised the recent performances of the young West Indian team and admitted that the Caribbean boys gave the Aussies a tough time in the recently concluded ODI series.
Hussey added, “The one-day series was quite a competitive one and the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 even had their nose ahead in the first Test before we turned things around."
