David Lee still adjusting to his role with the Golden State Warriors

When he was with the New York Knicks, hard-working forward-centre David Lee was his team’s main man on both ends of the floor, expected to score, rebound, and neutralize the opponent’s inside
threat.

But when he was traded to the Golden State Warriors, the five-year veteran’s responsibilities in their offence were reduced, but Lee is still struggling to adjust with his new role, and it
was evident after he had his first scoreless game in three years.

"It's all about competitiveness and bringing intensity," Lee said. "From the best on down to the worst, I've got to accept that everyone has bad nights."

But after finishing scoreless on Sunday 31 October against the Los Angeles Lakers, Lee bounced back and had a strong performance against the Memphis Grizzlies, tallying 15 points and 16 rebounds,
but still struggled on 5-17 clip from the field.

Despite his offensive struggles, the former Florida standout is not pushing the panic button yet because he knows that he doesn’t need to score a lot every game since the Warriors have a
lot of offensive threats like Monta Ellis, Dorell Wright, and second-year guard Stephen Curry.

"We have a great scorer in Monta, who we go to a lot early in games," said Lee, who averaged 20.2 points and 11.7 rebounds with the Knicks last season. "That's a change from what I'm used
to, but he's a great scorer. I'm going to have to find my points in other places and find a way to be effective in other places."

Lee, who is averaging 11.8 points and 11.5 rebounds in their first five games, also added that it will not be surprising if he’ll have another scoreless night because he knows that his role
with his new team is to get the rebounds to fuel their run-and-gun offence.

"My job is to go get 15 rebounds and we'll see how the scoring works out," Lee said. "I'll figure it out, but I think you can expect me to have more than zero points a night as we go forward."

The Warriors, who have won three of their first four games this season, will gun for their fifth win when they host the Utah Jazz on Friday 5 November.
