David Legwand comes up with sparkling performance despite losing series to Vancouver Canucks
The Predators were knocked out of the postseason and their hopes of a Conference Finals appearance were shattered as the Vancouver Canucks won the sixth game 2-1. The Predators still have a lot to take away from the game.
Pekka Rinne, goal keeper was definitely one of the most hard working and productive players in the team. Alongside him, we have another player, who did quite a lot for the team during the course of the play-offs this season.
Legwand is said to be the best player in the semi-final series against the Canucks after the goal keeper. Even though the Predators lost in the end, he was able to come up with a superb performance that kept the weak Predators team in the hunt for a spot in the Conference Finals.
Legwand has been part of this franchise for quite some time now. He has played in 12 play-offs for the Predators during which he has scored 11 goals. Out of these 11 goals, four have come in the most recent series against the Canucks. He had an assist along the way and was on a rating of plus 2. He was brought into the Predators as a number two pick in the 1998 draft entry.
He has been an outclass performer for the Predators, which the reason as to why he leads the forwards with most ice time during the semi-final series. When the two teams met in the last game, it was the Legwand, who scored the lone goal for the Predators.
Although the Predators lost the series 4-2 in the end, they have quite a lot of things to take forward. With the performances that they have put up, will surely help them move ahead as an organization and more importantly as a team.
The Predators have had to go through many tough times, facing a lot of setbacks in the first rounds.
However, in order to taste success you need to go through the phase of losing and it looks as if the Predators have learned. This season they fell short, but next season expect them do come out even stronger and better.
