Chelsea defender, David Luiz, has discussed interest from the Catalan giants and has stated that he is fully committed to his duties at the London outfit.
The Brazilian stated that Barcelona have not made any offer regarding him, neither have they discussed the matter with Chelsea. However, he mentioned that he would love to play for the current UEFA Champions League title holders.
Luiz insisted that he is fully loyal to Chelsea and did not pay attention to the prospect of playing in the Spanish La Liga. Though, the player maintained that any player would be attracted to an offer made by the Spanish champions.
Luiz was full of praise for La Blaugrana and expressed that their style of play is remarkable. He added that it would be any player’s dream to wear the colors of Barca.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Luiz-c10542 has attracted interest from Pep Guardiola, as the Catalan coach is looking forward to strengthen his defensive ranks, at the Nou Camp.
Reports suggest that Barca’s main priority is to sign Brazilian international, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-Silva-c34903, who currently plays for the Italian giants, AC Milan. There is great speculation that the Catalans may move for Luiz, should they fail to bring over Thiago
Silva to the Nou Camp from the San Siro.
Pep Guardiola has been looking to improve his options in defence, as it appears to be somewhat of a weakness for them at the moment. The issue is caused due to the aging factor of the club’s captain http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carles-Puyol-c8331.
Being a veteran footballer and having played a great deal of football, Puyol has grown more injury prone over time, causing problems for Guardiola in choosing his options.
Hence, Silva was deemed as the most suitable addition to the squad as he is currently considered to be one of the best defenders in the world. As there is uncertainty regarding Silva joining Barcelona, David Luiz has also entered the picture.
While addressing the press, the former Porto player quoted:
"I would be lying if I said I know nothing about it. I am aware, also because there have been continuous reports for months about Barca's possible interest. What I can say is that there have been no negotiations and no one has made a concrete offer
for me.”
"They are a great team who play fantastic football. Every footballer would be delighted to play for Barcelona, but I belong to Chelsea."
The Brazilian’s current form with the Blues has been far from impressive and he may opt for a move away from the club in the summer transfer window.
