http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Luiz-c10542 has come out and defended himself amidst reports that the Brazilian defender is struggling to adapt to life at Chelsea and the fast pace football of the English Premier League. Luiz and John Terry’s partnership in Chelsea’s
defence has proven to be quite fragile of late as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809.
The Blues also failed to win their important UEFA Champions League tie against Bayer Leverkusen which now means that they might face elimination from the European Cup altogether if they don’t gain a positive result against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863
come the final match day next week. This weekend, Chelsea are set to take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 but it remains unclear whether or not Luiz will feature from the start in a match that Chelsea can ill afford to make mistakes in.
Last season, Luiz had a fantastic start to his career in the English Premier League as he scored against Manchester United in their 2-1 loss at Stamford Bridge but the Brazilian defender showed a lapse in concentrated at Old Trafford
later on in the season when he allowed Javier Hernandez to score against the Blues in a title deciding encounter. Nonetheless, Luiz did play for 68 minutes against Bayer Leverkusen in mid-week but then he was substituted as the defender was said to be injured.
However Luiz revealed in his latest interview, “I was very happy; there were no important mistakes and my positional play was good. People have been talking lately about crazy mistakes, but I have a strong mentality, I am a very
strong guy and these type of comments don't touch me. Matches in the Premier League are very physical and played at a high intensity that is always the case. Every team we play wants to beat us because we are a big team. I respect Wolves, of course, but it
is important for us to win the match.”
He added that the move to Chelsea was quite easy for him as he has no fear of proving himself in a new league at a new club with new players.
