Brazilian defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 recorded a much needed victory on Saturday after a horrendous run of six games without a win.
The former Benfica centre-back opened the scoring in the 3-0 win against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday. Luiz had come under increasing criticism for his lacklustre performances, and the absence of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Terry-c18895 hardly helped his cause.
Following the goalscoring outing, however, he has lashed out on the critics.
“The guys who have never touched a ball can't kill me. This is impossible. Because I know my life when I didn't have anything, I know my life when my family needed me a lot.” A visibly irritated Luiz told Chelsea TV.
"I know my life when I left home at 14 years of age and I told them 'I will come back one day and give you a good life'.
"I play in a big team and when a big doesn't win for five games or six games, the pressure's so, so big. I believe in my http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684, I believe in my work every day, I believe in me. I know my football, I know my personality.''
Luiz then went on to praise the entire team for the performance. He made sure that his fellow defenders got a mention; Chelsea defence has been shambolic for much of the season and the latest win must have come as a relief.
"All the players defended well, not just http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Branislav-Ivanovic-c7994) - all the team defended well."
Concluding the talk, the defender urged his teammates to gear up for the upcoming games, emphasising on the fact that defence needs to be the priority.
"This is needed for the rest of the games. I want now a clean sheet for the next game.''
