David McKeon of Wests Illawarra excelled in preliminary rounds of Men’s 400m freestyle on first day of the 2012 EnergyAustralia Swimming Championships at the South Australia Aquatic and Leisure Centre in Adelaide on Thursday, March 15.

The 19-year-old McKeon stayed prominent for the top qualification spot from the start of the race. With his unconquerable efforts, he faced no difficulty in occupying the top position in the event.

the equivalent distance with the timing of 2 minutes and 54.71 seconds.
With his persistent efforts, McKeon met expectations of his supporters as he dictated terms to his challengers in the final round and clocked a time of 3 minutes and 48.96 seconds for first position. He stayed almost one and a half body length ahead of Hurley,
who reported a time of 3 minutes and 52.80 seconds.
