David McKeon wins Men’s 200m freestyle gold – Swimming news
David McKeon of WIAQ won gold medal in the Men’s 200m freestyle on opening day of the 2013 Swimming Australia Time Trials in Brisbane on Friday, June 21.
The 20-year-old McKeon lived up to the expectation of his fans in the 200m discipline as he cruised his way towards the finishing wall for gold medal. He faced tough competition from his opponents in the 200m discipline.
With his unstoppable efforts in the four-lap discipline, McKeon remained prominent for the title from the start as he emerged on the finishing end for gold medal by producing an effort of 1 minute and 49.88 seconds.
The champion was chased by Jarrod Killey of Hunter, who stayed 0.69 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher as he stepped on the finishing end for silver medal by producing an effort of 1 minute and 50.57 seconds.
Alexander Graham of St Kevins, who was 0.12 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end for third position by producing an effort of 1 minute and 51.69 seconds, chased the second best finisher.
The third best finisher was chased by Regan Leong of Kokoda Spirit, who was nearly 0.70 seconds slower from upsetting his preceding finisher and tapped the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 52.38 seconds.
Fifth position of the race was obtained by Jordan Harrison of Miami, who was only 0.07 seconds slower from upsetting his preceding finisher and tapped the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 52.45 seconds.
Sixth spot of the event was obtained by Mack Horton of MVC, who was 0.67 seconds slower and touched the finishing end with an effort of 1 minute and 53.12 seconds.
Daniel Fox of Chandler, who stayed almost eight seconds slower and clocked an effort of 2 minutes and 01.49 seconds, obtained seventh spot of the race.
Eighth position of the event was secured by George O’Brien of Kawana Waters, who concluded his race in eighth place with an effort of 2 minutes and 03.75 seconds.
In addition, McKeon was contented with his top finish and received accolade after the race.
