Everton manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 Moyes thinks that Liverpool made a wise decision by appointing a ‘young’ Brendan Rodgers as their new manager.
The Northern Irishman took over the reins of the Merseyside club, following Kenny Dalglish’s sacking in May in view of the Reds sweltering league campaign last season. The 39-year old, previously spent an impressive two-year spell at Swansea
City, leading their ascent to the Premier League from the Championships in 2011, and helped them finish the table at eleventh place.
The Reds, known for hiring experienced and seasoned candidates for the management post, opted to go with Rodgers as they look to benefit from his much-talked-about innovative ideas, in a bid to reinvigorate the dreary situation at Anfield.
The Toffees boss, who celebrated his 10 years in charge of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 in March, could not help but draw similarities between himself and Rodgers, indicating that like the Irishman, he took over the management with very little experience.
He told the reporters in an interview, “When I took over at Everton I was certainly young and inexperienced as far as the Premier League went… And the new manager at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 is a top manager as well - but young now - and probably in his own way a little
inexperienced a bit like I was when I started at Everton.”
The former Preston North End boss has coached the Toffees in a staggering 473 matches and boosts a 41.86 percent win record.
The 49-year old revealed that during his lengthy 10-year stay at Merseyside, he witnessed a host of experienced managers with impeccable records at Liverpool.
However, Moyes believes that it was only fair that Rodgers got the management job at one of the most prestigious clubs in the world, highlighting his exceptional achievements at the Liberty Stadium and backed him to come up good at Anfield.
He added, “Brendan did a great http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 at Swansea and more than deserves his chance at the top end.”
Liverpool will get their 2012/13 underway on 18th of August in an away match against West Bromwich Albion, and will host the title holders Manchester City in their next game a week later.
