David Moyes demands European finish
Everton manager David Moyes has demanded his team finish in one of the European places by the end of the season.
Despite the fact Everton is currently 13th in the Premier League, the Scot insists the squad is in the best shape he has known since he became manager. He has said that a place in Europe next season is
the very least the club has to achieve.
"As a manager, and I've been here for close on nine years, I find myself getting harder to please.
Our targets have to be attainable and I strongly believe finishing in a European place is attainable for Everton.
If I am harder to please then that's what we should be aiming for," Moyes told the Sky Sports website.
Moyes has also revealed that he does not think the club needs to make drastic changes to the playing squad in January. He is pleased with the way his squad has reacted
after a poor start to the season and he seems to have faith that his squad can do enough to make European football a possibility.
"We have lads who are determined to do well for the club and for a manager it's all you can ask, that your players are 100 per cent
committed. We need to start taking more of the chances we create, and all we can do is continue to make the right decisions, and be courageous enough to take the ball and pass it," he added.
Moyes does stress that getting into Europe will not be an easy task because it is an aim for many other clubs. The most basic way for Everton to get better seems to be
for the side to score more goals.
"What we have to do is try to find solutions for us to score more goals
and we will do this by looking within out own squad," he said.
Betting advice
Everton is a difficult team to predict. Stick to a match by match betting pattern for now because a European finish is still a long way off.
