The South African International proved to be a catalyzing factor for the Toffees phenomenal late run on in the campaign, after the Merseyside club signed him from Spurs on the transfer deadline date in January. Since his arrival at Goodison Park, Everton
suffered just 2 defeats in league matches out of their last 15.
In total, Pienaar capped 14 appearances for the Toffees in the prevenient term and netted 4 goals.
After witnessing the midfielder’s notable role in his side’s ascent in the second half of the season, Moyes let out his ambition of landing him at Everton on a permanent deal. He was optimistic that talks between the representatives of both the club’s will
be fruitful.
He told the reporters, “We're keen and I hope in time that we will be able to conclude that deal.”
Apart from his six-month sojourn at Merseyside, the 30-year old spent almost three and a half years of his career at Everton from 2007 to 2011, before joining Spurs in January, 2011.

He added, “I don't like talking about players at other clubs but I think the fact of the matter is that Steven has made it clear he wants to come back to Everton.”
