Everton boss David Moyes insisted Everton had not reached an agreement with English Premier League giants Manchester United over midfielder Jack Rodwell. The 20-year-old has been in excellent form for the Toffees this season which has led to heavy interest
from top clubs, the most notable one, the Red Devils.
Recent reports revealed that Manchester United had already signed a deal with Everton which would see Rodwell arrive at Old Trafford at the end of the season. Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is a big fan of the young playmaker and is determined
to sign him during the summer.
Rodwell has the unique ability of playing defensively as well as attacking football in midfield. In fact, the youngster started off as a defensive midfielder, but after his debut, Moyes realized he was more effective in an attacking position. He has scored
5 goals in 85 appearances for Everton so far.
However, Moyes refused claims of any such deal insisting he had no intention of letting Rodwell go just yet. Even though Everton are facing financial problems, Moyes does not intend to sell his best players to get the club back on its feet again.
Moyes said while speaking to reporters, "I don't know where all the talk has come from of a deal being done with Manchester United because that is a load of rubbish, a complete untruth. There has been no contact and we want to keep him at the club for a
long time and I have no reason to suggest anything else.”
Moyes revealed he was not in favor of letting players go and mentioned http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Pienaar-c34208, the three players who had left while he was in charge. The Toffees boss insisted he had tried to retain the three players but in the end
was left with no choice but to let them go.

Phil Jagielka, the 28-year-old defender, recently signed a new long term contract with Everton and revealed he was very pleased. His previous contract would have expired in 2014 but the new contract will see him at Goodison Park in the upcoming seasons.
Jagielka arrived at Everton from Sheffield United in 2007 and has been irreplaceable since then. The defender managed to cement his place in the first place in only his first season and won the Player of the Year award in his second season, despite a knee
injury.
Jagielka revealed he was very pleased with the new contract and said while speaking to the media, “I had a little while left on my last one but it is obviously nice to get a new one. I can concentrate on the football and hopefully there are exciting times
ahead for me and the club.”
