David Moyes offers Steven Pienaar record deal
Everton boss David Moyes is confident Steven Pienaar will commit himself to the club after making him an offer which would make the cultured playmaker the highest paid in the club’s history.

Pienaar has only one year left on his current deal and flew to South Africa without putting pen to paper, preferring to decide on his future when his country’s interest in the tournament was over.

South Africa’s next game is on June 22nd and it’s pretty safe to say that their chances of progressing are near to nothing.

Moyes who is currently in Johannesburg as a radio pundit, has reportedly met with Pienaar at the host nation’s training camp to table a four-year deal worth £55,000 a week.

The Merseysiders are now awaiting a response from the winger and his agent.

Last year former Russian champions Rubin Kazan tabled a £4.5million bid to Everton for him, which was knocked back.

This is year its Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp that has been weighing up a new £10 million bid, but it is said that Moyes is reluctant to let Pienaar leave for anything less than double that amount.

Arsenal and Liverpool are also in the frame, but will any team meet David Moyes' £20million asking price.

Moyes is hoping that the offer will be enough to secure Pienaar’s future, only time will tell.
