David Moyes wants Landon Donovan to return
Everton manager David Moyes has admitted that he would like LA Galaxy striker Landon Donovan to return to the club for a second loan spell.
The 28-year-old forward scored two goals during ten appearances for the Merseyside club last season. He has since admitted that it would be virtually impossible to turn down another approach from Everton.
"It would be hard to say no. I really hope that, if it's not this year, I get to go back there and play again. But if you asked me now I would lean towards a little more uncertainty. It's hard for me to
say as I've had a really long year. But we'll see after a few week's rest and see how it goes," said Donovan.
There will be a lot of positive things to come from any Donovan return to Everton. However, the player is likely to be swayed by a number of people away from the field to take a much needed break from
football.
A positive effect
Donovan's return would have an extremely positive effect on Everton. He seems to hit the ground running with the Everton fans, which is always important. This will make the American feel settled and confident
on walking back through the door.
Donovan is a very versatile player who can play in different positions along the attack. He can play as a sole striker or he can play more effectively down either flank of the team. This means he will
be a bigger squad player at Everton.
The only problem is that Donovan has played a lot of football over the last year and has not had much of a break. There is no winter break in the Premier League so if he joined in the near future a rest
would be impossible.
"If he'd like to come back, then we'd be delighted to have him," admitted Moyes.
Betting advice
Have a bet on Donovan to score in any Premier League game he plays in should he make the move back to Everton. There will be no reason to change betting patterns on Everton even if this move doesn't happen.
