David Munday of Artemis Racing aims to secure one of top three spots at the 2011 Adris RC44 Cup
Artemis Racing’s boat captain, David Munday is eyeing to grab one of the top three spots at the 2011 Adris RC44 Cup. Northern region of the Adriatic Sea in Croatia, the amazing fishing port of Rovinj, is attracting top guns of match and fleet racing from
around the world again for the second last event of the 2011 RC44 Championship Tour.
Chris Bake’s Team Aqua is now leading the overall tour standings with four points after four events and one discard. Behind them are Oracle Racing on second place with seven points and RC44 Team CEEREF on third position with 11 points. As far as the Swedish
team Artemis Racing is concerned, they have hit the sixth spot in the overall tour podium positions with 14 points.
The Swedish team is relived to be back at the tour after a tragic incident at the previous event in Sweden last month. They had a severe collision with Peninsula Petroleum during a race and the boat received real damage. The Artemis Racing boat had to be
shipped to Hungry for repairs and it is now ready to sail on.
Boat captain, David Munday explained about the boat, “We went directly to Hungary from Marstrand, where Pauger worked for a week straight on the repairs to the RC44. A few of us then worked on putting the boat back together and painting it.”
Consistent performances from Artemis Racing brought them to second place in the previous two regattas and they look forward for a better performance in this event too.
While speaking to media about the team’s aim, Munday said, “The team are all fired up for Croatia. Our goal is to be in the top three overall. If we can do that that, it will be pretty good considering what the boat and team have been through.”
