David Nalbandian bows out early in Wimbledon – Tennis News
World number 40, David Nalbandian, lost the first battle at the Wimbledon in straight sets 6-4, 7-6 (7/4), 6-2 to the eighth seed Serb, Janko Tipsarevic. The Argentine superstar has already faced a lot of trouble with the officials
this year; threw water at the face of the Australian official for making wrong call at the most crucial stage of the match against John Isner in the fourth round of the Australian Open.
He kicked the advertisement hoardings and injured the sideline official that cost him the title, points, pay cheque and some respect as well. So, the aggressive Argentine has definitely shown his characteristic at the courts. It
is the main reason for his distraction from the professional tennis and he wasn’t able to play to his full potential on Monday.
Tipsarevic said in a post-match interview, “David was the toughest first round opponent you could get here. I feel a little bit lucky because I think David had a lot of break chances in the first and second sets which he did not
use. I played well and I don't want to underestimate my win."
Nalbandian smashed his racquet at the courts when he was losing 4-3 in the second set. It was the most crucial game of the set and the Serb superstar won it through a bad shot from the former world number three who placed the shot
long. Frustration was definitely creeping in the Argentine and with the loss of games; the anger was climbing up.
The Argentine tennis ace has been sanctioned almost $70,000 prize money with some more fins and 150 ranking points for misconduct at Queen’s Club. It’s a big issue when someone is already down and out. He was on the verge of winning
the title against Marin Cilic but couldn’t control his anger and forced himself in a lot of trouble.
He also bashed Association of Tennis Professional for not taking any action against the wrong calls of officials that proves to be pivotal in the final decision. It’s a sad day in the history of tennis; an experience sportsman
is unhappy from the officials and can’t handle frustration. It happens to the most elitist of player; consider the example of one of the best footballers in the world, Zinedine Zidane. He head butted two different players during the match and one of them cost
his country a world cup title.
