The experienced campaigner has not taken lightly the criticism levied on him for donning Valencia’s colours in the past and took out time to reflect on the subject.

on various occasions.
 “I have planned this with my family in mind, so it is not a light decision. What hurts me most is that [those who have criticised] have not recognised my efforts for this club and the professionalism that I have.”
Continuing on the topic, Navarro implored the fans not to judge him for his past as a Valencia player, but accept him for what he is now, a Levante dressing room member.

“Do not judge a player by his past, you have to be by my side, because I am a Levante player. I defend these colours like nobody else and never will I fail on purpose or not give 100 per cent because it is not like that.”
Reflecting on criticism levied on him for conceding goals, Navarro claimed that it is normal to be under the storm given the nature of his playing position in the heart of defence, but claimed he has paid his due in time.
“Whenever we talk of goals conceded, the main culprits are always the centre-backs, but I have taken a lot in my career, for the criticism I have received.”
