David OH takes the club-house lead at GS Caltex Maekyung Open – OneAsia
First round of the GS Caltex Maekyung Open sanctioned by OneAsia teed off today. The event is being played at the exquisite par-72, Nam Seoul Country Club in South Korea. Some of the players who had early
morning tee off took advantage of the conditions.
It was the American David OH who emerged as the club-house leader after he finished his round. He carded a round of five-under par, 67 and played consistently well on the back-nine. OH is a golfer based
in USA and has been training there.
OH had a great start to this four-day championship. He had a total of six birdies and only made a single mistake. His brilliant putting on the greens fetched him these six birdies. The young American did
not wary of the field and played methodical shots during his rounds. He only made a single mistake which was a bogey on the par-3, 11th.
The young American OH was hitting the ball well off the tee and some of his approach shots were excellent which fetched him the birdies. He was very much pleased as his swing was in complete momentum.
OH is now confident of maintaining his lead and wants to emerge as the leader once all the players finish the round.
OH, currently, is the clubhouse leader and leads by a single stroke over his nearest opponents.
Three players are tied of the second spot on the score board. Yeong-Su Kim, Ashley Hall and Sang-hyun Park, all these three players carded a round of four-under par, 68. They are just one shot behind the
clubhouse leader.
Hyung-sung Kim is at four-under par after playing his first few holes. He has yet to finish his round and will certainly be hoping to emerge as the leader once he completes his round.
Australian Hall played well and enjoyed the playing conditions. He had five birdies marked on his score card and only had a single bogey. His bogey came on the par-4, 10th where his approach
shot to the green completely missed the target.
First round of this 72-hole championship is still in progress. All top ranked players of the tournament are yet to complete their round.
