David Oliver's recent success at the Samsung Diamond League

Currently twenty eight years of age, David Oliver is a distinguished hurdling athlete. As an American performer, he has brought considerable pride and glory to the nation he belongs. Not only allowing the American flag to soar high with pride, but also establishing David Oliver as one of the finest and most distinguished athletes that the nation has brought forward to the international platform in the past few years.
His trademarks being the sixty meters hurdles and the hundred and ten meters hurdles; Oliver has proven his worth by bringing home an impressive bronze medal at the Beijing Olympics held in 2008, and another one recently at the 2010 IAAF World Athletics Final.
Currently the national record holder for the field of hundred and ten meters hurdles, and a three times US champion, David Oliver certainly has proven his athletic worth over the past years ever since his inception into the field of athletics.
A gold medallist at the 2008 IAAF World Athletics final and a second title winner at the recently held USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Oliver never ceases to display his tremendous skills and impressive physical stamina.
With a personal best of 12.89 seconds completion time, David Oliver is distinguished because this completion time marks his name in the top three on the all time list; an honour certainly worth applauding.
The Samsung Diamond League has proven to be another feather in the cap for this distinguished American athlete, as both the fixtures, one at Eugene and the other have Paris have allowed him to equal the national record of 12.90 seconds completion time at the hundred and ten meters hurdles.
Furthermore, it provided him with an opportunity to set a personal best of 12.89 seconds, which distances him from the world record set by Dayron Robles two years ago by only 0.02 seconds.
David Oliver has displayed a level of consistency that is unmatched by any other athlete so far, winning all 12 of the races he has participated in this season. While the meeting at Monte Carlo will provide David Oliver with an excellent opportunity to advance his winning spree further, it will also be slightly disappointing as Oliver will be unable to boast of victory over the current record holder Dayron Robles.
Dayron has recently been forced to bid farewell from his upcoming meetings owing to a grave hamstring injury. While the recent meeting in Paris has provided this exceptionally talented athlete with a solid morale booster, he still has to fill the vacuum left behind after the retirement of Allen Johnson, a former world and Olympic champion.
Just ahead of the Monte Carlo tournament, David Oliver’s prospects seem sufficiently bright, and considering the upward trend his performances have been displaying recently, it will certainly be fascinating if it continues.
While Oliver is still a fraction of a second away from equalling the current world record, it is nevertheless worth applauding that he has simultaneously been receiving accolades and aiming for setting records.
Although only time will enable one to discover whether David Oliver can continue his stride and include the event at Monte Carlo as another victorious run, it is undeniable that David Oliver has earned a permanent stop for himself in the world of athletics.
