David Pipe and Somoza - partners for the Grand National
After almost all the horse racing events were called off by the management, first due to the big freeze and then due to the heavy rainfall and issues of water logging, the racing calendar is now in a composed state. There a number of prestigious events that
have been scheduled for this racing season and that will provide the fans of the sport and all those involved in the horse business with some quality racing. The preparations for the most flaunted and much anticipated Cheltenham Festival are enthusiastically
being made by the trainers and the racehorses. Meanwhile, one of the other exalted events is the Grand National meeting that will be taking place at the Aintree racecourse.
The champion trainer, David Pipe, will be sending out some of his most talented racehorses in the aforementioned meeting. Moreover, it has been recently reported that the great trainer has announced that his champion trainee Or Noir De Somoza will be heading
forward for the event. He is indeed a potential winner. It has been revealed that the racehorse has now rejoined David Pipe’s stable for the upcoming Aintree meeting. This decision is being considered a wise one by the sports analysts, as Or Noir De Somoza
will strengthen the already iconic team that Pipe will be sending out for the Grand National meeting.
The racehorse is not a stranger to the stable of David Pipe. Or Noir Somoza did train under the care of Pipe and contended the Group I Victor Chandler race that was run at the Ascot racecourse in the year 2009. This was not Somoza’s most spectacular performance
as he only managed to finish fourth in a field of five contenders.
After this meeting, the champion was shipped back to his former owner in France where he participated in three races at Auteuil and won all of them.
Talking to the correspondents the famed trainer was reported as saying that he is pleased that the owner of the racehorse has trusted him with the responsibility to train the winner colt for the Aintree meeting. He said that Somoza is an “exciting” colt
and it will be a good experience working with him for the Grand National, as he has won three Grade I races in France.
Pipe said, “We’ve had him in the yard before and he stays very well and I have always thought that he looked like an ideal Grand National candidate.”
