David Pipe says Notus De La Tour will race next at Cheltenham Festival

David Pipe has revealed that his trainee, Notus De La Tour will take part in the Cheltenham Festival, scheduled to start within the next couple of months.
Notus De La Tour recently took part in the Frank Ward Solicitors Arkle Novice Chase, but failed to win it. He completed the race in third place and was unable to match the speed of winner, Flemenstar.
He had a starting price of 5 to 2 for the Leopardstown chase yesterday, but was not the favourite to end up on top.

However, he could have finished second after getting off to a decent start, but lost momentum towards the end.
Runner up in the chase, Gift Of Dgab was given a starting price of 16 to 1, and he had a pretty decent run. This was the second time in his career that he finished second. He also has one victory to his name in steeplechase races.
Although both, Notus De La Tour and Gift of Dgab ran well on 29 January, 2012, they simply proved to be no match for Flemenstar, who increased his tally to three victories out of four in steeplechase races.
According to Pipe:
“He (Notus De La Tour) ran another fine race and Robbie Power gave him another great ride but we (and the rest of the field) were no match for the very impressive winner, Flemenstar.”
He further went onto say:
“Notus De La Tour will now head straight to the festival but his exact target has yet to be decided, it may be either the Jewson Novice's Chase or the Byrne Group Chase.”
The six-year-old horse has got a general starting price of 16 to 1 for the Cheltenham Festival. He could have earned more confidence of the bookmakers, had he managed to win the Frank Ward Solicitors Arkle Novice Chase.
Notus De La Tour has got a pretty decent record in steeplechase races, as he has won two out of the five he took part in. Despite not being able to win the other three, he has still given some fight to the front runners, finishing runner up once and
third on two occasions.
