Manchester City’s first team coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mario-Balotelli-c23937’s four match ban.
Following Manchester City’s win over Tottenham Hotspur by three goals to two in the Premier League, Mario Balotelli was in hot water with the FA due to a stamp on Scott Parker.
Prior to Balotelli scoring the match winner for City, he seemed to intentionally stomp on Parker’s face.
The striker went on to insist that his actions were unintentional and that he was simply trying to stop himself from falling.
However, based on the evidence at hand City feel that it would be better not to contest the ban, considering they could risk extending the player’s absence from the squad.
Platt also highlighted that the team went on to lose Vincent Kompany’s appeal as well and with so much evidence pointing against Balotelli, they were more than likely to miss out on their appeal once again.
Platt when talking about the situation is quoted to have said: "I don't think anyone thought we would win the appeal with Vincent Kompany's red card"
"So I think it would be futile”
"Whatever way you look at it, when you slow it down, it doesn't look good. I think Howard Webb did see the incident, but that's just my opinion. Not one of the Tottenham players or staff has reacted, neither has the ref.”
"But there does seem to be a huge inconsistency in terms of incidents reviewed on a Monday morning."
It is rather surprising to see only Balotelli’s actions being reviewed by the FA, considering the fact that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joleon-Lescott-c18941 went on to elbow Kaboul in the face and walked away unpunished.
If anything, these actions by the FA just go to show how inconsistent they really are and just why they aren’t taken seriously any more.
Nonetheless, Balotelli is now going to be missing out in action for the coming four games for City and one of these games is a second leg clash with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 in the Carling Cup.
In the player’s absence http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 is more than like to use one striker and keep the other on the bench in order to avoid any injuries to his forwards.
