David Price agrees to one-year deal with Tampa Bay Rays – MLB Update
Starting pitcher David Price has agreed to a one year deal with the Tampa Bay Rays after avoiding salary arbitration.
Price was exceptional in the last Major League Baseball season as he achieved consistent numbers of 2.56 ERA along with 20-5 win-loss, 205 strikeouts and 1.10 WHIP.
"I don't know what else I'm going to do with this yet, I'll just try it on different locks. It's tough, They definitely will be missed," Price said before arbitration.
Later he also said, “Everybody, including myself, needs to step up and pitch better this year, That's our plan right now. That's what we're working out (in the offseason) for. … Everybody's going to step up. We've all been together quite a while, We've got
a good feel for each other. We enjoy it. If they want to look to me for advice, I'm an open book, and they know it.”
Price also carries a career 3.16 ERA along with 61-31 win-loss, 725 strikeouts and 1.17 WHIP. Now since he has agreed to Rays again, he is feeling quite confident to come up with more diligence in the coming Major League Baseball season.
Meanwhile, Price’s re-signing with the Rays will also help them to get good results in the next season onwards. Currently, the Rays have three good pitchers including Jeremy Hellickson, Roberto Hernandez and Alex Cobb.
Jeremy Hellickson showed good results in the last Major League event. He achieved consistent results and went with good numbers. He remained consistent on 3.10 ERA along with 10-11 win loss, 124 strikeouts and 1.25 WHIP. His career stats are also consistent
at 3.06 ERA along with 27-21 win loss, 274 strikeouts and 1.19 WHIP.
Roberto Hernandez also played well in the last Major League Baseball season and achieved good numbers of 7.53 ERA along with 0-3 win-loss, two strikeouts and 1.40 WHIP. His career stats also make him a good role player in the league with 4.64 ERA along with
53-69 win loss, 567 strikeouts and 1.43 WHIP.
Alex Cobb also proved his valour and showed good output of 4.03 ERA along with 11-9 win-loss, 106 strikeouts and 1.27 WHIP.
