David Samson insinuates discord among the South Florida teams in panel discussion - MLB Update
The General Manager David Samson gives an impression that there are serious differences among the three teams in South Florida. Sitting in a panel discussion and talking about various issues, discussion grew sour when the Miami Marlins’ GM complained of
the incident that happened in March at Miami Dolphins’ facility.
Although, nothing has reached a point where officials will be lashing out publicly at each other, certain statements issued imply an existence of discord. Subdued expressions of differences signal care being observed to make sure fans do not take un-intended
meanings.
A place which resides such great number of enthusiastic fans cannot afford its officials to be fighting over administrative matters.
Marlins are in the middle of their 2012 regular season expedition. Anything hijacking the teams’ attention due to media hype on unrelated issues, will be the last thing they will want.
As GM called into question the Miami Dolphins’ handling of some matters, this is not good for overall atmosphere in the teams. This can trigger a blame-game and can aggravate the problems.
Panthers’ president, Michael Yormark, stepped up to placate the atmosphere. Trivialising the reports of possible conflicts, he elaborated that everything is going fine. Little things remain part of every organisation, but they are not indications of disagreements
worth being a source of concern.
"Personally, I'm a huge fan of all the Miami teams and had an incredible experience at Game 1 of Heat-Celtics series where my daughter was dressed head-to-toe in white. While we are all competitive and try do what's best for each of our franchises, we are
all working together either directly or indirectly to make South Florida the best sports market in America," Yormark said.
Since the clarification has come now, statement GM Samson gave will not be misconstrued by fans. Even the GM made it clear that on the whole inter-team relationships are great and work is being done in respective jurisdictions.
"The three Miami teams work really well together," Samson said.
As the days go on, further reports are likely to come. One will be clearer about the real matter by then. The fans will be hoping that everything will be fine and teams will continue their cordial relationships among themselves.
