David Silva, Jonathan Walters: Best of Gameweek 4 – Fantasy Premier League – Part 3
Manchester United winger Luis Nani was the first midfielder to be added to the list for team of the previous Gameweek, after the back four consisted of Phil Jones (Manchester United), John Terry (Chelsea), Kieran Gibbs (Arsenal) and Nicky Shorey (West Bromwich
Albion).
For his performance against Liverpool, Asmir Bergovic (Stoke City) took the goalkeeper spot. However, it is time to complete the midfield and move on to the strikers.
Midfielders
Stiliyan Petrov (Aston Villa)
Stiliyan Petrov seems to have found the fountain of youth, or rather the well of points as the Aston Villa midfield veteran earned himself an impressive 10 points over the weekend following a dominating display.
Scoring a goal is always a nice feeling for a player and the fans, yet for Fantasy Premier League managers it is even more so. Petrov’s goal is one such example as the minority of managers who had the Villa midfielder in their team could walk around with
a smug expression on their faces and brag about how they have an eye for points.
Five points from the goal, two points from minutes played and three bonus points meant a good week for Petrov and those who had him in their team.
Jonathan Walters (Stoke City)
The name is one that Liverpool fans will not like the sound of but Stoke City fans will be chanting as it was Jonathan Walters who not only earned the penalty against the Reds, but also stepped up to hammer the ball into the back of the net from the ensuing
spot kick.
Apart from the goal, which earned the midfielder five points, a full 90 minutes and a clean sheet took the player’s tally to eight points. However, his passionate performance did not go unnoticed as another two bonus points were awarded to the player.
10 points against a side with the quality of Liverpool is no mean feat.
David Silva (Manchester City)
A player we are huge admirers of, David Silva is one of the few superstars in the cash strapped Manchester City, who actually lives up to the tag.
Scoring goals and setting them up are what the player is known for and he does both on a regular basis every weekend.
In one quarter of all the teams in the Fantasy Premier League, Silva has a lot of managers depending on him and this weekend he repaid them after a quite performance in the previous gameweek.
Setting up two goals for six points, something the Spanish playmaker does with grace, poise and ease, Silva was the puppeteer pulling the strings in the City midfield and linking the midfield to the attack.
One bonus point, two points for minutes played and another point for the clean sheet later, Silva had amassed 10 points for their managers to smile about.
With the midfielders out of the way it is time to look at the two strikers who lit up both the Barclays Premier League as well as the Fantasy Premier League.
The weekend’s Fantasy review is continued in the next part of the article:
