The Manchester City play-maker has expressed that his side’s major concern ahead of their game against the Irish is the counter attacking prowess of their opponents.
Spain’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Silva-c10601 has voiced his views prior to La Roja’s group stage clash against Ireland in the Euro 2012. The midfielder believes that the Boys in Green have deadly counter attacking abilities and this can cause complications for the Spanish national
team.
Silva pointed out that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Giovanni-c14985 Trapattoni’s men have a number of players from the English Premier League, which means that the Irish are gifted in terms of attacking football.
As the two teams come together to play out their second match of the Euro 2012 campaign respectively, the Reds have been tipped as favourites to secure all three points from the encounter.
Furthermore, the clash has great importance attached to it. Victory or defeat can decide the fate of the two teams as a loss will ensure that the beaten team does not have a real chance of progressing to the next stage.
This represents another reason for La Roja Furia to be wary of their opponents, because the Irish will be willing to put up a good fight in order to keep their Euro hopes alive.
The defending European champions are indeed likely to top the group, however, their 1-1 draw against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vicente-c36001 Del Bosque’s men are not invulnerable this time round.
David Silva has also appeared rather cautious ahead of the match and believes that the World Champions will need to be at their best.
While talking to reporters, the 26-year-old was quoted as saying:
"Ireland may decide to sit back a bit more. It also depends on the condition of the pitch and whether we can play the way we want to. There are several Premier League players in their team, so they know how to play on the counter attack."
Vicente Del Bosque’s men will take on the Boys in Green on Thursday at the Polish city of Gdansk.
