I read that every year in Britain the Dr Who magazine polls its readers about their favourite Dr Who. Every year Tom Baker ofcourse wins but not this year. David Tennant won it.

I think this might be because todays younger viewers never saw Tom Baker. Don't get me wrong. David Tennant was born to the role and I like his portrayal of the Timelord as much as Tom Bakers. But I was wondering what other people thought. In particular people outside of Britain. I've heard the show has a big following in the US now. One of the BBC's very few exceptional programs it is. Is David tennant too young to assume the role?

  1. I personally find it hard to compare Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant to the previous Doctors.  The writing on the new show is much better, giving these two an unfair advantage over the others.  No matter how good an actor any of the Doctors from the original series were, they couldn't have done as good a job as Eccleston and Tennant because they simply didn't have the material to work with.

I personally prefer Eccleston's Doctor to Tennant's, but I can see how a lot of people would prefer Tennant's.  Of course, I'm one of the few people whose favorite Doctor from the original series isn't Tom Baker (I'd go with Jon Pertwee), so my opinion should probably be ignored anyway.    :-)
