http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 target, David Trezeguet is eyeing a move to France as his return to Serie A collapses after Walter Mazzarri pulls the plug on a deal for the striker.
Trezeguet was heavily linked with a move to Stadio San Paolo throughout the summer transfer window but the Azzurri manager blocked the move. Napoli President, Aurelio De Laurentiis, is a huge admirer of the former Juventus star and he wanted him to join the club, as his experience would have been very useful in both domestic and European competitions.
The former French international striker revealed that he was on the verge of joining the Naples based side but unfortunately for him the deal collapsed.
He remarked: "I almost signed there. Napoli is a club that is on the up in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 and will play in the Champions League. We [Trezeguet and President Aurelio De Laurentiis] shared the same vision and desire to achieve great things. But in the end, the coach changed his plans. I think he thought I wouldn't be happy about not playing every game. I was just willing to fight for my place."
The former A.S Monaco star had a wonderful 2010/11 season with Spanish side, Hercules, but could not prevent his side from relegation. The 33-year-old is on a free transfer now and he has decided to return to his homeland to play for his boyhood club, Monaco.
Trezeguet revealed that he is currently training with the French side and is hoping that a deal will be struck with them in the next few days.
"In my head and my body, I feel very good and I want to continue. The conclusion is that it may be time for me to go home and today, I want to come back to France.” added the French star
The French world cup winner spent the most successful time of his career with Italian Juventus, where he made more than 300 appearances for the Old Lady and scored 171 goals in his 10 year stay at the club.
