David Villa comments that Barcelona’s victory will always be more important than him scoring goals.
Despite the fact that the Spanish star striker, David Villa, has recently ended one of the longest goal droughts of his career, he believes that the team win is more vital than his own tally of goals.
The 29-year-old Spanish striker from Camp Nou commented on their last encounter against Osasuna, saying that he feels that the team win holds greater importance than improving his own personal sheets.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Villa-c10629 just went through the longest goal drought of his professional career as he played eleven fixtures without scoring a single goal, his last goal coming in February.
This seems to have changed as David Villa scored the first goal of the match in the fixture between http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38605 F.C. and Osasuna of the Spanish Primera Division.
The match ended with the score board reading 2-0 in favour of the men from Camp Nou. Villa commented, "The important thing is the victory and not my goal”, and then continued, “The win was very important after the game the other day [Copa del Rey defeat
to Real Madrid on Wednesday] and we have the three points”.
David Villa has also accepted that his teammates have demonstrated signs and other symptoms of tiredness but insists that with the upcoming UEFA Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid, they will be better than ever and the world will see what Barcelona
FC is exactly made of.
He said, "The team suffered from a little fatigue at the end but the important thing is that we added a second goal. We have to be in the [Champions League] final. You have to go into the tie with such intentions”.
The Spanish Champions are still eight points ahead of Real Madrid but the recent Copa Del Rey loss to Madrid would make the upcoming encounter bitter as both teams are eager to win, using every means necessary to achieve it.
