Barcelona striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Villa-c10629 admitted the failure of the group in front of goal, and stated that they were not as creative up front as they have been in the past.
Villa scored late in Wednesday's 2-0 Group H win over Viktoria Plzen, and remarked that they were inefficient in front of goal and should have wrapped up the match much earlier.
The Camp Nou based outfit took the lead after 10 minutes thanks to Andres Iniesta, and left it late until the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 man sealed the victory with his 82nd minute goal.
"It cost us a lot to close out this game. We had possession and a lot of chances but were not as assertive in front of goal as we have been," the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 international was quoted as saying on the UEFA website.
The Asturian striker was not happy with Barcelona’s second line of attack, who failed to take advantage of the chances.
"Our main goal scorer is http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296, but the second line of attackers also have to get on the score sheet. We could have scored another tonight."
La Blaugrana will travel to Czech Republic to face Viktoria in front of their home support. The Czech champions will pose a difficult task to the European champions in their own den, a statement verified by Andres Iniesta.
The Spanish international was impressed by their opponents on the night and stated that playing Viktoria in their home den will be anything but easy.
“We saw that the return in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Czech-Republic-c2882 will be anything but easy. Physically they are strong opponents, they like to attack and, although winning over there might be difficult, it's important we do so as three points will pretty much see us through,"
Iniesta was quoted as saying on Uefa.com.
The World Cup winner agreed to Villa’s evaluation of the match and stated that they should have scored more goals. Iniesta stated that they did put in a lot of effort for the second goal and it should have arrived sooner rather than later in the game.
He was happy with their efforts and the positive result, told that stressing about the score-line is irrelevant.
