Left-armed spinner, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/David-Arlen-Wainwright-c52641 has signed up with his new county team, Derbyshire for a 2-year contract, and is confident that he will serve his new team well across all formats.
Wainwright agreed on his new association with Derbyshire after bidding farewell to his previous County team, Yorkshire, which released the bowler on his own request after not making regular appearances under the first-class cricket this year.
However, in July, this year, Wainwright had been serving Derbyshire on a loan, and now has been brought on board on a permanent basis.
Stating his remarks on the Derbyshire official website, the County side’s head Coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Karl-Matthew-Krikken-c70321, said, “We are delighted with the opportunity to sign a player of David's quality and experience.”
“First-team opportunities have sometimes been limited for him at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yorkshire-c867. But the move to Derbyshire will increase his chances of playing more regular cricket and I expect David to become an important player for us in all forms of the game,” added Krikken.
On the other hand, Wainwright revealed that he had been receiving offers from other counties as well; however, he could have never let go of the chance to work with Krikken.
“There was a little bit of interest from other counties but I’d worked with Karl before in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 and got on really well with him, so he was a big influence,” said Wainwright.
The spinner also expressed his delight for becoming part of Derbyshire’s roster and said that the team’s performance made his pick easy and that he looks forward to working with the younger players, who he believes will mature into leading the County to
heights.
The 26-year-old http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lynette-Ann-Fullston-c73358 has played 35 first-class matches under the County circle, and has secured a tally of 82 wickets averaging at 36.62. Out of the lot, Wainwright’s career best innings performance was of 6 for 40.
However, not only did Wainwright impress the audience with his spin, but has also been quite effective under the batting department, evident to which is the player’s aggregate of 1071 first-class runs from his participation in 35 outings, including his highest
not out total of 104.
