http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DA-Warner-c1301, a fresh addition to Australia's injury list - Cricket News Update
The explosive top order batsman, David Warner, is the latest to join the growing injury list of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, starting in Melbourne next Monday, December 26,
2011.
The back strain, which surfaced for the first time during the lost Hobart Test against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 last week, has made Warner a doubtful starter for the Boxing Day Test.
The 25-year-old http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823 born, who debuted in Test cricket earlier this month against New Zealand, at Gabba, on Monday walked off the ground twice during the ongoing three-day warm up match against the on tour Indian side in Canberra, due to a nagging
back strain.
After leaving the field Warner was seen seeking treatment for the back strain from team physio David Beakley, at the sidelines of Manuka Oval, raising concerns over the strength of Australia's squad for the high profile Boxing Day clash.
However, a CA spokesman has played down the rising concerns over Warner’s availability for next week’s Test series opener at Melbourne.
The Australian selectors already lack options for the first Test as inclusion of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Watson-c96326 is battling a hamstring strain he had
sustained during the Johannesburg Test against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Pattinson-c1653.
In the meanwhile, Australian players are improving their batting skills in the three-day batting camp arranged at the Melbourne Cricket Ground under head coach http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mickey-Arthur-c1969 and batting coach Justin Langer’s supervision.
Langer told the media reporters that in the three-day camp, focus would be on mental toughness of players.
"You can do the physical and technical preparation but for me a lot of preparation for the opposition is a real mental thing,” Langer was quoted as saying by an Australian newspaper. “A lot of it has to do with strategy. It's a mind game really. We know
the Indian bowlers really well. We've just got to get our minds attuned to getting ready for what is to come," he added further.
