Delhi Daredevils’ Australian import, David Warner, is gearing up to open with swashbuckling Indian opener and Delhi skipper Virender Sehwag in his team’s remaining IPL fixtures of the season.
David Warner, who arrived in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DPMD-Jayawardene-c1397 had been opening with Sehwag, with
KP playing at No. 3. But, in order to accommodate the hard-hitting Australian opener, the Daredevils are likely to drop Jayawardene down the order.
"I am pretty sure I'll be opening up with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/HA-Varaiya-c1520 and will try to continue the success we have had in previous years," said Warner speaking to the media reporters ahead of Daredevils’ return leg Indian Premier League match against Kolkata Knight Riders at home.
"Be it me or Mahela batting up the order, it's going to be an opportunity for either of us to keep scoring runs for Delhi," he added further.
During Warner’s absence, due to national commitment, Daredevils played 10 matches, winning eight of them and currently sit at the top of the IPL-V points table. With six games to go, the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780-based franchise has already qualified for the tournament playoffs.
"Things are going really well, it's a good opportunity for me to come in while the team is going well. I'll keep executing my skill and help the team as much as I can," said Warner, who has played 31 IPL games for Daredevils and amassing 769 runs at an impressive
strike rate of 128.38.
Warner missed the first half of the ongoing season five of the lucrative Indian Premier League as he was playing Test cricket in the Caribbean. Asked if he was worried about the change of format, the 25-year-old left-handed batsman from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823 said,
“ I am back to T20 cricket and I am looking forward to continue scoring runs for Delhi.”
To date, Warner has played 119 Twenty20 matches scoring 3426 runs at an average of 30.86 and a strike rate of 142.51. The tally includes four centuries and 20 half centuries as well. His inclusion in the Daredevils line-up will only strengthen their already
well-built top-order.
